London, New York and Moscow top the list of the world’s most expensive cities for residential property buyers, according to international property research firm Global Property Guide.Residential properties in Chelsea, Mayfair, Notting Hill and other neighbouring central London locations now fetch a staggering £10,960 - £18,214 per square meter.
Other cities that made it to the top of the priciest locations list are Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
When it comes down to office occupancy cost, London is not lost at the bottom of the list either. According to 2006 DTZ survey, London’s West End and City office space took the 1st and 5th positions in the top 10 list.
Financial Times reported in January 2008 that demand for office space for small businesses remained strong, defying fears of a commercial property slowdown. One of the large commercial property owners in the UK reported a 46 per cent increase in lettings in 2007 compared with 2006.
