According to the recently published latest edition of the UK’s Competitiveness Index, the biggest improvement in the last two years was seen in North West part of England. Three cities contributed to such an impressive change – Salford, Liverpool and Manchester.
Out of 407 locations, both Salford and Liverpool have risen 44 places in the rankings, while Manchester has gone up by 24. (more…)

Former Bank of England offices in Temple Row in Birmingham are to be redeveloped to create approximately 190,000 square feet of excellent office space.
The existing building is situated virtually on the doorstep of Birmingham’s stunning St Philip’s Cathedral and was originally commissioned by The Bank of England and completed in 1972, while the most recent refurbishment took place in 1997.
The new development is set to be a modern yet elegant 10 storey building with nearly 18,000 square feet of retail space and over 170,000 square feet of Grade A office accommodation.

Cardiff office market has stayed vibrant in the first half of the year, it was reported. The total take-up of offices in Cardiff during the first six months of year 2008 was 220,000 square feet, which is 65,000 square feet less that for the same period in 2007.
The total of the transactions was 80, compared to 91 in 2007, with the majority of the transactions taking place in the city centre of Cardiff. The figures also show that the out-of-town office space market has experienced an increase in activity compared to the same period in 2007.

London, New York and Moscow top the list of the world’s most expensive cities for residential property buyers, according to international property research firm Global Property Guide.Residential properties in Chelsea, Mayfair, Notting Hill and other neighbouring central London locations now fetch a staggering £10,960 - £18,214 per square meter.
