Belfast is the largest city in Northern Ireland and also its capital. It is also the second largest city in Ireland. Belfast have acquired a dubious reputation as the centre of troubles in Northern Ireland between Royalist and Republican paramilitary forces but a period of peace is now being enjoyed in the area largely in part to the Belfast Agreement (also known as the Good Friday Agreement) that was signed in 1998. Major redevelopments are now being undertaken not only in Belfast but also in the whole of Northern Ireland, which makes it more and more attractive to businessmen and investors.

Belfast enjoys a storied history. The site surrounding the city has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. In the 17th century in became a settlement populated by English and Scottish settlers during the Ulster Plantation.
